PHILOSOPHERS' DAY 2018

The Department of Philosophy celebrated the Philosopher’s Day 2018, on the  feast of St. Thomas Aquinas on 27th of January. The festive concelebrated Mass was presided over by Very Rev.Fr. Irwin Morais, the Provincial Superior of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The Memorial Oration, named after the great scholar late Rev. Fr. Harold Panditharatne was the significant event of the day. The guest speaker Vishvanath Buddhika Keerthisena made his outstanding oration. He addressed the audience on “The Symbolic foundations of Cinematic language as a medium an expression of life experience”. Diploma holders of the batches 2015-2017 were awarded their certificates by the Rector of the National Seminary and the chief guests of that day . Students of Philosophy at the National Seminary convey their heart-felt appreciation for all the trouble taken and responsibility shouldered by the Rector of the National Seminary-Very Rev. Fr. Expeditus Jayakody, the Director of the Philosophate-Rev. Fr P. Christunayam, and the Dean of Philosophy-Rev. Nilantha Ediriwickrama.
