NATIONAL SEMINARY CELEBRATES THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF LANKA 2016

On the 4th February 2016, National Seminary celebrated the feast of her patroness, Our Lady of Lanka. The Solemn vespers service was presided over by Most. Rev. Dr. Noel Emmanuel, Bishop of the diocese of Trincomalee.  In the homily, he highlighted the importance of praying to Mother Mary as one family since She will pray and intercede for all of us continuously. The Service was followed by a festive dinner. On the feast day, the Festive High Mass was presided over in the Theologate chapel by Most. Rev. Dr. Joseph Vianney Fernando who invited the priests-to-be to follow the example of St. Joseph Vaz who loved the Blessed Virgin Mary entrusting himself to be her servant.
 The traditional annual inter class basketball tournament was held in the evening. The champions of the tournament were 3rd Year Theology Brothers and the runners-up were the 2nd Year Philosophy Brothers.
