It was the 29th January 2015, on the feast day of
St. Thomas Aquinas, the Department of Philosophy
celebrated with much enthusiasm the Philosophers’ Day 2015. The festive
Concelebrated Mass was presided over by the provincial Superior of the Oblates
of Mary Immaculate, Very Rev. Fr. Rohan Silva. The guest speaker of the day was
Professor Maithree Wickramasinghe who made an outstanding oration on “Feminism
& gender studies”. Late Rev. Fr. Harold Panditharatne who was a
great scholar, was remembered with a great respect at the celebrations as the
talk was named after “Rev. Fr. Harold
Panditharatne”. Here, in a special note that the students of Philosophy at the
National Seminary appreciate all the trouble taken by Rev. Fr. Ajith Fernando,
the Director of the Philosophate and Rev. Fr. Ajith Welington, the Dean of
Philosophy in making the day a colourful and wisdom filled one.
